Top 6 Christmas Yankee Candle Picks

What other way to get in the Christmas spirit than to fill the house with Christmas scents! Other than baking, what more could you want other than some delicious Christmas candles. For this blog post I took myself to the Yankee Candle shop and picked out some little votives to test out before I made my mind up as to which scents I preferred. (Disclaimer: I dislike cinnamon scented or tasting anything so I have avoided those like the plague, if you’re a fan of cinnamon, sorry not sorry!)

Cherries on Snow

About this Scent:

3/5. An enchanted, sparkling blend of bright, juicy cherries with sweet almonds and an icy freshness. This is a nice scent but it isn’t really Christmassy!

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Fruit, Cherry, Almond, Sweet Citrus
Mid: Spicy Cinnamon, Tart Cherries
Base: Musk

Winter Glow

About this Scent:

3/5. A crisp scent of frosted leaves on snow-covered trees in the cool air, all warmed by golden amber sun rays. I love this scent but it doesn’t give much payoff, which is a bit disappointing.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Frosted Orange, Rosemary
Mid: Eucalyptus, Spruce, Lavender
Base: White Cedar, Golden Amber

Christmas Cookie

About this Scent

5/5. Buttery rich, vanilla scented, holiday sugar cookies. This is my favourite scent of them all! When you give this one a sniff as it is, you might be a bit intimidated because it is quite sickly sweet. When this burns though, it fills the room with the nicest smell, just like Christmas baking.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Creamy Vanilla Bean
Mid: Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Sugar
Base: Vanilla, Butter, Baked Notes

Berry Trifle

About this Scent:

4/5. The mouth-watering fragrance of fresh berries, tangy and sharp, nestled on a white bed of soft vanilla cream – delicious ! Personally, I love the scent of this when it isn’t burning. When it is, I am kind of disappointed with how little scent this gives off. The scent that it does is lovely though. Once again, not the most Christmassy though.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Raspberry, Lemon
Mid: Strawberry, Blueberry
Base: Vanilla, Cream, Sugar

Christmas Garland

About this Scent:

2/5. The season comes to life in this lush aroma of fresh-cut pine boughs and zesty cranberries. Personally I think this is a bathroom scent. Smells like it would clean your toilet well.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Green, Aromatic
Mid: Coniferous
Base: Mossy, Woody

Festive Cocktail

3/5. This one really gave off a scent. It leans towards the sickly smelling of scents but it’s not too overwhelming. I think this one is the perfect middle ground for someone who doesn’t like strong scents but still wants a hint of festivities in the air.

About this Scent:

Celebrate with a tart concoction spiked with mountain berries and a sprig of fresh-spinned pine.

Fragrance Notes:

Top: Citrus, Cranberry, Blackcurrant
Mid: Pine
Base: Vanilla

And that’s my little guide to the Yankee Candle Christmas edition scents! I hope that helped make up your mind a little. I know it can be difficult when there are so many scents available!
