Pink Glitter Wing Tutorial

For today’s post I thought I would run through the products I used to create this super simple glitter wing eye look. It’s so easy it probably doesn’t warrant a tutorial, but I like to post different content so for today I thought it was time for a makeup tutorial. Completely unrelated to this – has anyone else still not received their Kylie Cosmetics x Kim Kardashian collab? I’ve been waiting over two weeks now and it still says it’s en route! I’m getting bored now, they better be worth the wait..

So onto the tutorial. As usual I’ll run through the face products first:

  • Kat Von D Lock It Primer
  • Kat Von D Lock It Foundation
  • NYX HD Concealer in Porcelain
  • RCMA No Colour Powder
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
  • Revolution Ultra Contour Palette
  • Mac Desert Rose Blush
  • Becca Moonstone Shimmering Skin Perfector
  • ABH Dipbrow in Medium Brow
  • Benefit Ready, Set, Brow
  • Benefit 3D Browtones

For the eyes, I used my trusty Carli Bybel palette along side my all time fave, the ABH Modern Renaissance palette. I find these two palettes to really be some of the most versatile palettes in my collection, and I always have these as my go to’s in my makeup drawers.

After popping a base of Mac Soft Ochre, I set the cream with the very top left shade in the palette. I then used the third shade from the left in my crease, which I took up pretty high because I had intended to do something a bit more elaborate with the white liner, but it didn’t work out and I ended up having to remove it (which you can still see the remnants of in the picture below).

For the lid itself, on the outer V I took my favourite dark brown from the Modern Renaissance palette called Cyprus Umber and buffed it in and up to the crease. This is one of those shades that you just can’t find a dupe for, so I always use it sparingly and I’ll be heartbroken when it’s gone!

On the inner half of the lid I used the shade Vermeer, which I normally reserve for highlighting the brow bone and inner corner of the eye, but because it has a pearly pink sheen to it I thought it would tie the liner in nicely.

For the liner itself, I used the NYX White Liquid Liner. I find this to apply nicely enough, but it cracks pretty horrendously, so I would never wear it on my own. I think for white liner, it  would be best to go for a cream rather than a liquid as I feel that it wouldn’t flake off like this one does. Over the top, I used the Collection Glam Crystals in the shade number 8 Dancing Queen, which is a pretty pink/blue/purple glitter.

I then added some mascara and lashes, which were the Eyelure and House of Holland ‘Luffly’ lashes, and the look was complete.

I hope you enjoy this tutorial, it’s a bit more exciting than your basic black wing! See you in the next one.
